If you are a freelancer of any kind, you may be on the lookout for new resources that you can use to advance your knowledge of the world of freelancing and how to help your freelancing business succeed. If you do not regularly spend at least a little time looking around online and educating yourself about freelancing, it is important that you add some time for professional development to your to- do list. Continuing professional education is important for freelancers, just as it is for all types of professionals.
If you have not already done so, during some of your professional development time you may want to check out a web site called the International Freelancers Academy. Ed Gandia and Pete Savage, two of the authors of the book The Wealthy Freelancer, created the International Freelancers Academy to help freelance professionals break free of the limiting beliefs that may be holding them back from attaining the levels of success that they are capable of. The web site contains free training materials that are designed to help freelancers with many areas of their businesses, including landing better projects and avoiding potentially problematic clients.
Each year, the International Freelancers Academy also presents a free online conference called International Freelancers Day. Last year, the conference was in September. Unfortunately, I missed it because I did not know about it. I will be on the lookout for more information about the 2013 conference, because I do not want to miss it.
Just so you know, Ed Gandia and Pete Savage have not compensated me in any way, shape, or form for mentioning their website and their book here. In fact, Ed and Peter have no idea who I am. Their book and web site contain information that I think is valuable to freelancers of all kinds.
