Adventures By Disney: China

Upon exiting customs in Beijing, an Adventures by Disney representative will meet you, escort you to your transfer vehicle and assist with your luggage prior to escorting you to The Peninsula Beijing Hotel. You’ll have the rest of the day to relax and adjust to the change in date and time. That evening you’ll meet your fellow adventurers at a welcome reception with a traditional tea ceremony, followed by a classical Chinese dinner. After dinner, you can even dress up in Chinese Imperial costumes and have photos taken.

On day two, you’ll enjoy a privately guided tour of Tiananmen Square and walk through the Forbidden City. Lunch will be at Da San Yuan, a Cantonese restaurant. After lunch you can spend the afternoon exploring on your own or relaxing at the hotel. Before dinner, you’ll be able to create your own souvenirs with the assistance of a master kite maker, a master calligrapher and a master opera mask painter! After a dinner, you’ll enjoy a short private performance of Beijing opera.

On the third day, you’ll ride a cable car to the Great Wall at Mutianyu and then walk along the top of the Great Wall. Then you’ll enjoy a western-style lunch at a converted village schoolhouse near the Great Wall. Afterwards, you’ll see a local chef demonstrate how to create perfect noodles and another artisan create glass figurines. The evening and dinner are yours to spend as you wish in Beijing.

On day four you’ll travel by pedicab through the streets of Beijing’s ancient Hutong neighborhoods. You’ll participate in traditional crafts demonstrations like knot-tying, decorative paper-cutting, and an acrobatic display by a yo-yo master. Lunch will be at the Noble House Restaurant before flying to Chengdu. In Chengdo, you’ll have dinner at Gingko Restaurant and then check in to the Sheraton Lido Chengdu Hotel.

Your fifth day in China will bring you to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding where you’ll see a variety of pandas and enjoy a privately guided tour and presentation by a biologist. Lunch will be a pizza party there at the center and will be followed by a Chinese stick-fighting demonstration. You and your kids can even participate! You’ll then have an early dinner at the hotel and then enjoy an evening at the Sichuan Face-Changing Opera.

On day six, you’ll fly to Guilin in the morning then enjoy lunch at the Guilin Sheraton and take a privately guided tour on the Guilin Esplanade that parallels the Liijang River. Then you’ll travel by motorcoach to your hotel. That afternoon you can enjoy a privately guided bike tour or a stroll through the Modern Art Park around the hotel. That evening Junior Adventurers will have their own special dinner and a Disney movie with your guides while adults can enjoy their own dinner separately.

On your seventh day in China, you can take part in a workshop on stone painting or spend an hour by the lake learning Tai Chi from a local master. Afterwards, you’ll take a cruise on the Lijiang River where lunch will be served amidst the stunning landscapes of soaring magical formations. That afternoon you can try your hand at shopping in the bustling shops of Yangshuo before returning to the hotel for a family barbeque next to the park’s lake.

On day eight, you’ll fly to Shanghai, enjoying lunch in-flight. You’ll then check in to the Hilton Shanghai and take an orientation tour of Shanghai. You’ll even stop at the Children’s Palace for a charming welcome song and dance by local schoolchildren. That evening you’ll dine at one of Shanghai’s premier restaurants in the waterfront district.

On your ninth day, you’ll see demonstrations of fan dancing and martial arts, then tour Old Shanghai and Yu Gardens. You’ll have a buffet lunch on the 54th floor of Jin Mao Tower. The afternoon and evening are yours to spend as you like.

On day ten, you may choose to take a break in the morning or take the motorcoach for a ride to the Shanghai Museum or the Science and Technology Museum. That evening, after dinner, you’ll enjoy a show of classic Chinese acrobatics with a live rock band, exciting choreography, light effects and a breathtaking array of talented performers.

On day eleven, you’ll fly to Hong Kong, enjoying lunch in-flight. After checking in at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, you can enjoy the rest of the day at the Park as a VIP. You’ll get Disney’s FASTPASS service, special entry passes for stage shows, and reserved viewing for the afternoon parade.

Day twelve will begin with breakfast at the Enchanted Garden Restaurant in the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel. Afterwards, you can join your Adventure Guides for a privately-guided tour of Hong Kong, enjoy the Disneyland Resort or enjoy the hotel’s many amenities. That evening you’ll join your fellow adventurers for a farewell dinner at the Crystal Lotus.

On day thirteen you’ll breakfast at the hotel prior to being transported to the airport for your journey home.
