Candy Coated Easter Crafts: Jolly Jelly Times

Easter chocolate isn’t just for devouring post-bunny visit. It’s a lesson I learned after my young daughter came home from class with the cutest Easter candy creations.

If you are looking for simple and sweet crafts to make with your kids, just in time for the Easter holiday, consider the following projects:

EASTER CANDY CREATURES

Materials:

Pipe cleaners

Googly eyes

Feathers

Construction paper or felt scraps

Craft glue

Easter Candies—Jelly beans, wrapped chocolate Easter eggs, Whoppers, candy robin eggs, egg shaped jawbreakers, etc.

Directions:

Cut body parts out of felt or construction paper.
Using the low temp glue gun attach candy to feet, ears and other parts.

Let your kids use their imagination and creativity to embellish creatures with pipe cleaners, feathers, and googly eyes.

JELLY BEAN EGGS

Materials:

Plastic Easter eggs

Jelly Beans

Craft glue

Directions:

Create a mosaic pattern by gluing jelly beans to plastic eggs.

Begin the pattern around the center of the egg and work one row at a time, completing one circle at a time.

For younger kids, allow them to use their creativity to glue on jelly beans in any pattern they desire.

Use the decorated eggs in an Easter-themed centerpiece or use them as the special prize eggs in your family’s annual Easter egg hunt.

EASTER CANDY WREATH

Materials:

Five 9 oz. bags of Solid Milk Chocolate Eggs (foil covered)

12-inch diameter foam wreath

5 yards of white or pastel satin ribbon 2-inch width
Silk spring flowers (daffodils, lilies, etc.)

Craft glue

Directions:

Wrap the satin ribbon around the wreath. Cover completely. When done, cut off excess, and secure the end with a dab of glue. Save left over ribbon to make a bow to decorate the wreath.

Begin gluing the foil-covered eggs to the top center of the wreath; continue around the top and down both sides, alternating colors and angles of the eggs to add interest.

After wreath is completely covered with chocolate eggs, finish by attaching the sprigs of silk flowers and the bow made from the remaining ribbon.

Hang in shady, cool area.
