Choosing the Right Theme Cruise For You

In my previous blog I discussed the advantages of taking a theme cruise (caviar and Klingons, anyone). However, the one disadvantage of taking a specialty cruise is that space is limited. Theme cruises are extermely popular and cabins fill up fast. To help you get a jump-start on your competition I have compiled a list of the hottest theme cruises on the water.

If you like what you see I suggest you make your reservations right away. Then get ready for an unforgettable high seas adventure.

“Hogs on the High Seas”

Get your motors running and rev up for some crazy fun on the water. In its fifth year, Hogs on the High Seas is the perfect opportunity for you to enjoy cruising (via ship, not your Harley) to Mexico or the Caribbean with your hog buddies. When you aren’t pigging out at the buffet head to the pool for the “belly smacker contest.” For more information click here.

“Frank Sinatra Tribute Cruise”

If you are a Sinatra fan who can’t get enough of the legend’s silky classics this may be the perfect cruise for you. When you aren’t crooning to the sound of Sinatra interpreter Steve Marvin, you can join in Sinatra-only discussions with the host of radio show “Strictly Sinatra.”

“Caviar Cruise”

What could be more decadent than cruising the Black Sea while dining on black gold? Egg-craving cruisers are taught what drinks pair perfectly with various types of caviar and also learn which dishes benefit from an infusion of the delicacy. For more information click here.

“Cabaret at Sea”

If you can’t get enough of your favorite Broadway hits (or simply can’t get tickets to see them in person) this cruise is for you. The cruise’s floating stage will play host to composer-lyricist Jerry Herman as well as leading Broadway and cabaret stars. For more information click here.

“Great Balls of Yarn”

This would be the ideal gift for my mom—sending her on the high seas with her needles and yarn to mingle with other purl-happy passengers–would simply be a dream come true for her. The Eastern Caribbean sail also features classes with knitting author Nicki Epstein. For more information click here.
