Calendars

You can also use desktop publishing programs to print calendar templates, and then add your own designs, photos, and messages to make them special.
Desktop or Flip Calendars
You will need a square memo pad for this idea. Simply write the numbers 1 – 16 on the first 16 pages, consecutively. Decorate each page as desired. Remove these pages, and one blank page, from the memo pad (blank page on bottom). Staple them together at the top, or use a hole-punch and thread some ribbon through the holes. Flip the entire thing over. Turn the pad so the top is now the bottom. Skip the blank page and then write the numbers 17 – 31 on the remaining pages. Glue the blank page to a piece of cardboard or foam to make a base for your calendar.
Bookmarks
If you know people who love to read, make special holiday bookmarks for them. We have made other bookmarks here in the past, but here is another option:
Cut a strip about 2” wide and 6” long from the cover of a Christmas card. Cover the front of the strip with clear contact paper to protect it. Punch a hole in the top and thread some ribbon through it. Write a special message on the back.
