There’s nothing quite like soaking up the sun in Hawaii while the rest of the country shivers and shovels. Old Man Winter is knocking, but you don’t have to answer if you are enjoying the sun, sand and surf in paradise.
Now is one of the best times to snag a deal to the land of Aloha. The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are considered part of the low season in Hawaii. Consequently, you can score major savings on airfare and accommodations, including this amazing deal from BeachDestinations.com:
The tour operator is offering a vacation package to Hawaii for just $899 per person. The price includes airfare from L.A. or San Diego to Honolulu, with a return flight from Lihue, Kauai, on American Airlines. It also covers four nights on Oahu at the Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki; four nights on the island of Kauai at the Aston Islander on the Beach; daily continental breakfast; and the flight from Oahu to Kauai on Mesa Airlines; plus, all hotel and air taxes and fees.
The catch: You need to book by next week and travel no later than December 12th. If you want to change your departure city to Seattle, add $25 to the $899 price. Departing from San Francisco will cost you $89 more; add $205 for New York City; $300 for Chicago; and $310 for Boston.
If you consider that airfare between L.A., Honolulu, and Lihue, Kauai, starts at $427 in mid-December, and that hotel accommodations alone for 8 nights will run you nearly $450, this travel package is a fabulous deal.
Another way to escape the holiday chaos is to sail off to another popular tourist destination: Europe. If Hawaii is not your definition of paradise, perhaps you will enjoy voyaging to an international delight.
Norwegian Cruise Line just unveiled a new promotion for families booking a Europe sailing. The company is offering a 50% discount on fares for children ages 17 and younger when traveling with two adults in the same cabin.
The discounted rate is available for any 2013 sailing in Europe, including cabins on the 4,100-passenger Norwegian Epic which is heading to the Mediterranean in May. Two other Norwegian ships are based in Europe year-round and offer itineraries to the Canary Islands.
