It was a secret… or was it?
Ricky Martin fans, who for years have speculated that the hunky singer was gay, got quasi-confirmation of their presumption earlier this week.
Martin’s stylist all but confirmed the singer’s sexuality in a recently published Swedish magazine article in which he is quoted as saying that he would love to live La Vida Loca with his client.
According to the magazine, Martin’s skincare expert Ole Henriksen accidentally “outed” the sexy singer during a magazine interview.
The Scandinavian beautician, who openly admits to being gay, was asked who he’d most like to spend a romantic getaway with, and responded, “I’d say my client Ricky Martin.”
As he has each time questions regarding his sexuality have come up Martin declined to comment on the latest magazine article and on the subject of his sexuality in general.
Meanwhile, actress Jodie Foster is also facing fresh speculation over her sexuality after she paid tribute to “my beautiful Cydney” at a recent Hollywood awards ceremony.
According to those in attendance, the 44-year-old Oscar winner appeared to confess her love for film producer Cydney Bernard during an acceptance speech.
Foster’s exact words were: “(Thank you to) my beautiful Cydney who sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss.”
So, did the actress and mother of two young sons (who some say were conceived via a sperm donor) really “out” herself in the middle of an awards show?
Foster’s close friends say they are not surprised that the “Silence of the Lambs” star decided to reveal her relationship with Bernard now. Foster’s pals speculate the actress decided to “come out” now because she no longer fears the effect her sexual orientation could have on her Hollywood career.
Shortly after the ceremony one of Foster’s friends told news reporters, “I think Jodie just wanted to thank one of the most important people in her life. She wants to be treated like everybody else and has been in movies long enough not to be unduly worried about the effect it’s going to have on her career.”
