This is one unique scrapbooking magazine put out by Northridge Media and has quickly become a popular choice for many scrapbookers. The entire Northridge Media group of magazines has gained an immense following in the past year within the scrapbooking and paper crafts industry. There are now four magazines – Scrapbook Trends, Paper Trends, Cards and Bead Trends.
Scrapbooking Trends is an amazing, full color magazine on high quality thick magazine paper and honestly pulls its image off as more of an idea book even though it is published monthly. This is the same circumstances surrounding Cards and Paper Trends magazine. These are magazines like nothing you have ever seen before.
The photographs on each page are enlarged well beyond a typical magazine photograph so you can really see all the details on the page, and yes, even read the journaling; something many scrapbookers have complained about in the past.
There is one small problem with the magazine. The cost. And it really isn’t a small problem, it’s a pretty expensive problem. A subscription costs $49.95 for six magazines. If you want a full years worth, the cost is a whopping $84.95. There seems to be some speculation on why they charge such high amounts, but the general consensus seems to be that it is put out as more of an idea book, which would run roughly about $14.95 to $19.95 for a copy. Not to mention the much thicker quality papers used to print it and the full vibrant colored pages. I just cannot seem to figure out what else it could be.
Overall, Scrap Trends is a great magazine. Unfortunately due to its high cost I do not have a subscription and do not plan to, HOWEVER I do occasionally sneak a peek or two at the store and borrow a friends copy when she lets me.
Do you have a subscription to Scrapbook Trends? If you do, have you canceled other subscriptions for this one?
