AIRFARE SALE
AirTran Airways just announced a sizzling hot airfare sale on Friday. The summer fares, as low as $59 one-way, are good for travel from June 29 through July 7, 2010. What’s more, there are no blackout dates.
According to travel experts, these types of impulsive sales are aimed at rousing interest on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Translation: If you are not tuned in, then you might miss out.
RESORT DEAL
Frugal families looking to hit the beach this summer without breaking the bank should seriously consider taking advantage of the Fun-tastic Summer Package being offered by Oceana Resorts in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The package deal includes hotel accommodations, four tickets to Ripley’s Aquarium, four tickets to the IMAX 3D Theater and four rounds of mini golf at Lost Mine. The lowest package deal is being offered at the Patricia Grand where you can get all of the aforementioned items for just $130 per night. Add $10 per night if you are staying at the Camelot By The Sea and $20 per night if you choose to bunk at the Best Western Carolinian.
The offer is good through August 31, 2010, and requires a minimum three-night stay. Rates are based on a family of four: two adults and two kids under 14. Given that the IMAX tickets alone are worth $92, this is an outstanding deal.
FREE MONEY
Finally, the Holiday Inn just announced the start of its “Honeymoon On Us” promotion for couples who book a wedding reception at any Holiday Inn in the United States.
The “honeymoon” is actually an American Express gift card worth upwards of $750. In order to qualify for the free gift card couples need to book a reception at a Holiday Inn by December 30, 2010, though the actual reception can take place at a later date.
Qualifying couples will receive the prepaid gift card about 10 days after they book the reception. In order to get the full $750, bride and grooms-to-be need to spend $15,000 before tax. If you spend $3,000, you get a $200 card. In addition, the card expires 12 months after it’s issued and can only be used at retailers in the United States or Puerto Rico.
