At seven weeks post partum, I was itching for a new pair of jeans. After wearing the same maternity skinny jeans for over six weeks post partum, I was more than ready to put those jeans away with the rest of my maternity clothes. I have been exercising nearly every day for the last three weeks. Even though I am not back into all my pre-pregnancy clothes, all but one pair of my pre-pregnancy jeans fit again, which in my mind justified a new pair of jeans and not just any jeans; a pair of well fitting dark wash skinny jeans!
Thus my quest for my first pair of non-pregnancy skinny jeans began. My sister, who was visiting for my daughter’s baptism (her goddaughter), was also in the market for a new pair of skinny jeans. With our kids in tow, we headed to the mall to find the perfect pair of skinny jeans.
Our first stop was a boutique recommended by a friend who has three kids, she said that these particular skinny jeans were cut for a more mature figure; in other words a better cut and fit for women who have had children. We tried on the jeans in our prospective sizes. Both of us found the cut of these particular jeans uncomfortable and I did not like the orange/red stitching. The next stop produced a perfect fit but an undesirable wash. The third and fourth stops resulted in ill fitting jeans. Our fifth and final stop held the the same brand of my maternity jeans. Both my sister (who claimed these jeans were a terrible fit for her) and I tried on the non-pregnancy version of these skinny jeans. I loved them, the sizing was a little off but the jeans fit well, were a fantastic dark wash, and looked great. My sister also found these jeans to be a perfect fit as well. Success!
