Trials and Tribulations

As single parents we are faced with our fair share of trials in our life. At times you may feel like there is a target on your back. Trying to get back on your feet can be a challenge. Sometimes you feel as if the entire universe has combined against you. You try to do all of the right things and live your life the right way for you and your children and it doesn’t always work out the way that you think that it should. Life isn’t fair, as much as we would like it to be it just isn’t. Bad things happen to good people, even when they are doing all of the right things and taking all of the right steps.

When it seems like everything is falling apart around you, that is when your kids need to see your strength. Most of us are stronger than we give ourselves credit for. Our children are very in tune to what is going on around them and what their parents are feeling. Show them that even though things are hard and you are struggling that you are strong and you will get through it. Focus on the positive things, no matter how small they may seem. In turn your children will learn to focus on the blessings in their lives as they get older.

Your children can be a great strength to you. When times get tough, focus on them and they will remind you of the little joys all around you. They will teach you about love, laughter, and happiness. I know I have learned far more from Logan than he will ever learn from me. Even though being a single mother is hard, at times it seems to be more than I can bear, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. If I had to do it all over again just to get him here I would. He is such a blessing in my life. It is times like this that I just don’t know what I would do without him. What a blessing it is to be a mother!
