Trump To Sidekick: “You’re Fired”

I never thought I would see it happen. But, when you are talking about “The Donald” you just never know. Donald Trump has just made a firing that is making waves across the country. But, the head on the chopping block is not an “Apprentice” contestant; rather it is his “Apprentice” sidekick Carolyn Kepcher.

The New York Post is reporting that after 10 years working for Trump “the icy blonde” got the ax because she “became a prima donna.” Kepcher’s “real job” was running Trump’s National Golf Club in Westchester, New York and supervising the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Her stint on the NBC reality show as one of Trump’s chosen set of eyes and ears was just a side gig. However, following the success of the show, one insider told the newspaper: “Being on ‘The Apprentice’ went to her head. She was no longer focused on business. She was giving speeches for $25,000 and doing endorsements.”

In fact, the paper reports Kepcher, who had booking agents and “a bevy of appearances on her schedule,” was off on a speaking engagement when Trump tried to reach her recently. The paper didn’t go into details about Trump’s failure to locate Kepcher, but it may it sound like this may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back. Ironically, before the firing even leaked to the press various media outlets were reporting that Trump’s daughter Ivanka would be taking Kepcher’s place (she filled in last season too) for the show’s next season.

The new season of “The Apprentice” is being shot in Los Angeles, which is why show producers had already announced that Don Jr., Trump’s son, would be taking over for George Ross, Trump’s other sidekick who lives in New York. However Trump’s latest firing may appear, sources close to “The Donald” say he has no hard feelings toward Kepcher. “He wishes her well,” Trump’s assistant Rhona Graff told reporters Thursday.

Still, I am left to wonder how the former “Apprentice” contestants who got the boot (in part) because of comments made by Kepcher are taking the news of her canning?
