They say that every baby is born with a unique and distinct personality. After having 3 babies myself, I can definitely say that is true. One of the fun things about this stage that my baby is in is that we see more of his personality a little bit each day. I love it. Along with a personality comes a baby’s likes and dislikes, and believe it or not, babies even have “favorites” at this stage. Of course, as baby grows, his favorite things will grow and change too. But, sometimes, they will stay the same.
What is your baby’s favorite comfort? Does he snuggle with a favorite stuffed animal? My baby loves to cuddle a blanket when he sleeps. Oddly enough, my other son loved it too and continued the tradition until he was about 3 years old. Every once in a while, I will still catch him snuggling a blanket. When I am putting my baby down for a nap, or to bed at night, I just put a small blanket in his hands, and he is instantly (Well, almost) in dreamland. I love that he has something that is so comforting.
Who is your baby’s favorite person other than Mom or Dad? My little guy is obsessed with our cat. OK, so she’s not technically a person, but she is a living being, so I think she counts. While he loves his siblings to death, he especially loves our kitty. This makes me extremely nervous. She is after all, a cat, and therefore, very unpredictable! When she lays down, and he is on the floor, he makes a bee line for her every time. He squeals when she enters the room, and waves bye bye to her. It is precious.
Last, but not least, what is your baby’s favorite solid food? I’m afraid that my attempts to get him to love avocados are still a work in progress. But, he does love sweet potatoes and carrots. I’m sure that I will have another orange-nosed baby on my hands shortly because he eats them every day. It is the only solid food that when he sees it coming near, he gets so excited he can hardly wait! He is enjoying eating solids these days, and has been caught trying to explore the refrigerator a few times!
Other favorites you can look for are:
Baby’s favorite toy
Baby’s favorite place to get into trouble
Baby’s favorite song
Baby’s favorite game to play
Baby’s favorite book
Baby’s favorite place to play
Every baby loves different things, and has their own way of feeling comfort and happy in their surroundings. Make sure and keep an eye out for some of those favorites and record them in your baby book. What are some of your baby’s favorite things?
