With the abundance of Christmas presents Logan gets from friends and family each and every year, I find myself wondering where in the world we are going to put everything. We’ve already got so much squished into our little basement bedroom that I’m not sure much else will fit. Luckily, this gives us a fabulous excuse to do some spring cleaning. That means Logan and I will be going through all of his toy boxes and setting aside the toys he doesn’t play with anymore to make room for the new ones.
He has several toy boxes and has been rather spoiled as the only grandchild for several years. However, there are many less fortunate children who didn’t get much of a Christmas this year. These toys are for them. Every child deserves to have a Christmas, and while we may be a few days late, I’m sure they won’t mind having a few extra toys to play with.
As your children are making room for their new treasures from Santa, take some time to talk to them about the other children who weren’t so lucky this year. Carry out the spirit of giving into the new year as your children are going through their old toys. We have been so blessed to have friends and family that love and care about us. They spoil Logan every year, which gives us the perfect opportunity to help those in need. There are many single mothers who were unable to provide the Christmas they would have liked for their children this year; this is their chance to have what we so often take for granted. As a single mother I am so thankful for all of the help I have at Christmas each year. So many people are willing and eager to spoil my baby when I can’t always do everything that I would like. This year I want us to be able to provide that for someone else.
