More Ways to Save at Theme Parks

Treating the family to a day at a theme park can put a huge strain on your household budget.  In some cases, paying for two adults and two children to enter, eat, drink and play some games at a reputable amusement park can total more than a month’s worth of groceries, utilities or gas.

If you are pinching pennies, but still want to enjoy a fabulous summer day at a major theme park, consider taking advantage of these discounts:

GROUP RATES

Many theme parks around the country offer huge savings for guests visiting in groups, including companies, schools, religious organizations, even large families looking to host their reunions at the park.  Amusement parks, such as Six Flags, will even customize a package deal for groups of 100 or more to include discounted admission, a personalized all-you-can-eat buffet and a variety of other activities.  Groups with 20 or more people pay just $32.99 per person when tickets are bought in advance.  That equates to monumental savings, especially when you consider a general admission ticket for an adult is more than $60.

ONLINE DEALS

A variety of coupon websites also offer money-saving discounts to those looking to spend time at theme parks.  For example, AnyCodes.com regularly features competitive discount coupons to Universal Studios Hollywood. Simply click on the offer and you will be given a special code which you can use to save on admission to the park.  Likewise, RetailMeNot.com regularly offers amazing deals on admission to several major theme parks, including Universal Studios and Six Flags.  The site provides an option for printable online coupons and coupon codes.

ADDITIONAL SAVINGS

Prior to purchasing tickets for an amusement park, go online to check for additional savings.  Some parks offer residential discounts for in-state guests, while others give senior citizen discounts on certain days.  If you are visiting a large city that features a host of popular family-friendly theme parks, look for combination tickets that help you save money on admission to multiple attractions.  For example, if you are headed to San Diego this summer, you can pocket a ton of cash by purchasing combo passes to LEGOLAND, Sea World San Diego, and the San Diego Zoo.
