10 Things I Love About My Preschooler

1.Calls her hair by name. I am quite certain I have the only child who actually named her own hair. I am not sure how it all happened but one day she decided to call her hair by name, “Judy.” I wasn’t sure if she was just that charming or needed some mental help. She loves her hair and brushes it all the time so I suppose naming it is only natural. Right? Right?!

2.Pretends her scooter is a motorcycle. When she rides her scooter she revs it up like a motorcycle. Like all preschoolers, she loves to play pretend whether it is playing air guitar or reving up a scooter.

3.Tells her older siblings to stop fighting. Of course, she can argue with her siblings all she likes but if they argue amongst themselves they need to watch out! My little one is not shy about reminding them proper etiquette and rules of behavior. She shakes her little finger and even gets the “mom look” on and goes after them. It always causes laughter which breaks up the fight and sadly reinforces her “correcting” them.

4.Says, “You are my cutie.” I call her a “cutie” all the time. So, sometimes she will come up to me, hug me, and say “you are my cutie.” While, that won’t get you the cookie you asked for three times it may just get you that birthday gift you wanted.

5.Hugs and kisses. She loves to hug and kiss. It can be a bit much at times but I hate to complain.

6.Goes to bed with a fuss. Yes, she does!

7.Easy to entertain. Bubbles, sandboxes, art supplies, a walk around the block, sitting and watching a movie with mom, she loves the simple things.

8.Wants to Learn. She is always very excited about learning new things!

9.Sings Sunday school songs. She walks around the house singing Sunday School songs. Nothing is more precious!

10.Allows me to see the world from a different perspective. It is such a privilege to have raise a preschooler. You have the great delight of seeing the world through little eyes that are amazed by everything.
