10 Top Reasons to Exercise

Do you need reasons to exercise? Sometimes just knowing something is good for you is not as effective as listing the specific reasons why it is good for you. Sure, we know that daily exercise is something we should all aspire to. But just knowing that exercise (which in and of itself is a nebulous term) is good for you is different than knowing maintaining good posture can improve your mental and physical health. So here are my top ten reasons to exercise. Be sure to add your own!

  • Exercise helps me to control my body weight
  • Exercise increases my flexibility and helps me feel more comfortable with myself
  • Exercise reduces stress in my life and keeps my anxiety levels down
  • Exercise improves my heart and lung function
  • Exercise helps me to work better and keeps me focused on the tasks at hand
  • Exercise improves my self esteem
  • Exercise helps me sleep better at night
  • Exercise increases my energy levels and helps me to wake up refreshed
  • Exercise improves my endurance and helps keep me going all day
  • Exercise reduces my chance for injury whether I am horse back riding or carrying heavy groceries in the house
