Reading Lists for 1st Grade
With first graders, you should begin to introduce to them the concept of the title, table of contents, authors, and illustrators. It is also a good time for discussing the difference between fiction and non-fiction books. Discussing the stories after they are read are a great way to make sure that children comprehend what is being read.
