4th of July Schedule at Walt Disney World

Visitors at Walt Disney World will be celebrating the 4th of July along with the rest of the country and there will be parades, fireworks and nighttime spectaculars. Keep in mind that many of the parks have extended hours today – the Magic Kingdom for example will be open until 1 a.m. For those of you there, visiting or planning to head there this afternoon, here’s a schedule of events to keep track of:

  • Magic Kingdom – the Disney Dreams Come True Parade will proceed at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m.
  • Magic Kingdom – The Fantasy in the Sky fireworks will happen at 9 p.m. with the SpectroMagic parade occurring at 10:30 p.m. and again at 12:30 a.m.
  • At Epcot, you can see IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth their spectacle of fireworks, dancing lights and music at 10 p.m.
  • At Disney-MGM Studios – The Disney Stars & Motor Cars parade happens at 3 p.m. with their Fantasmic a fantasy of lasers, fireworks and surprises will happen at 10 p.m.
  • Animal Kingdom – Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Expedition Parade starts at 4 p.m. and the Animal Kingdom will be open until 8 p.m.

Don’t forget the citizenship swearing in service that will be held in Cinderella’s Court today in the Magic Kingdom. The heat and the crowds might get very thick in the parks, carry cool water and be sure you and your children take frequent breaks throughout the day to cool off and enjoy the Disney experience. If you’re planning to attend the Magic Kingdom’s festivities late into the evening, you might even catch an afternoon siesta before hand.

You can check with guest services at any of the parks or at your Disney hotel for more information. You can also call 407-824-4321. Have a very Happy (and Mickey) Fourth of July!
