Planning a vacation to Disney World this summer? My neighbor is and with their three kids, she wanted some advice on what shows were critical because they have a limited schedule. So I thought to answer her question and maybe yours, I’d compile a list of the 5 great Disney World shows for kids. These are the ones you don’t want to miss and that your kids will adore. I’ve done my best to list ages where I think appropriate.
Playhouse Disney – Live on Stage
For your youngsters, especially in the 3 to 6 year old range, Playhouse Disney is a fantastic show where kids can see their favorite Playhouse Disney characters perform alive on show. There’s singing and dancing and as a parent, you can’t help but enjoy your children’s enjoyment. Older kids might be a bit bored. (Located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
Muppet Vision 3-D
This is a 4-D show that will appeal to young and older kids alike (even the kid inside Mom and Dad) as the Muppets like Miss Piggy, Kermit and more perform. There’s even a pre-show that’s totally classic and well worth a stop in whether you have kids or not. (Located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios).
Disney’s Phillhar Magic
This is a 4-D spectacular that features Donald, Mickey and other Disney classics in a show that almost feels like you’ve stepped inside Mickey’s House of Mouse on the Disney Channel. This show is ideal for children of all ages. (Located at the Magic Kingdom)
Legend of the Lion King
This is a live action show featuring dancers, singers, acrobats and of course, favored characters from the film performing on stage. This is a live action show that demonstrates some of the best in Disney magic and ideal for kids of all ages, especially those who love music. (Located at the Animal Kingdom)
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
Younger kids might be startled by some of the dangerous stunts, but it’s a fantastic look at the behind the scenes stunts needed to make the big movie. It’s also a lot of fun. For fans just seeing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, there will likely be a reinvigorated interest in the show. (Located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
