4 Metabolism Boosting Foods

The slower your metabolism the fewer calories you burn. Since the goal is to burn more calories than you consume it makes perfect sense to find ways to increase metabolism. I prefer to do it naturally rather than taking pills. Here are five natural ways to boost your metabolism so you can reach your goals.

Four Ways to Eat Your Way to a Speedy Metabolism

Green Tea: Green Tea has a component called Epigallo Catechin Gallate, or EGCG.  It is this compound that is believed to be the main ingredient that helps boost your metabolism and aid in weight loss.

Additionally, both green tea and coffee have caffeine. Caffeine speeds up your heart and the faster your heart beats the faster your metabolism. Caffeine has also been shown to increase concentration. So have a cuppa and feel good about it!

Grapefruit: The grapefruit diet was called a fad but there is wisdom to eating grapefruit to help with weight loss. The secret is vitamin atop it is said to have some fat burning quality. Grapefruit is the most common vitamin C fruit to be considered a weight loss food.

Pears and Apples: Low in calorie and high in fiber these little metabolism boosters are crisp and sweet. You will fill full and satisfied longer due to the fiber. There was a study by State University of Rio de Janeiro that found that women who included apples and pears in their low calorie diet lost more weight than the women who did not.

Low Fat Yogurt: The calcium found in dairy products has been part of many studies when it comes to weight loss. Studies show that those people who included 3 to 4 servings of dairy products in their weight loss plan lost more weight than those who did not include dairy.
