5 More Frugal Uses for Bandannas

After yesterdays Five New Uses for Bandannas, I couldn’t stop dreaming up more uses for these little colorful squares of fabric. I have piles of them, and we keep laughing about how many more we keep finding. Oh, and if you don’t have any bandannas, the same results can be found from fabric squares.

Towels, Napkins

It can be used in a pinch as a wash cloth while in the bath or shower, and it can also be a great tool for using while cleaning the dishes. Either for washing (best) or drying. Drying is a bit harder as the bandanna fabric tends to not be very absorbent. It even makes a great napkin and can look really fun on an outdoor patio table.

Cool Off

Wet one down with cold water. Or better yet, wet it down and place in the refrigerator. Do not place it in the freezer, as when you place the frozen bandanna on your skin, you could burn it. Place the wet, cold bandanna around your neck on really hot days. It feels GREAT!

Tie it On

While out and about, tie things to your belt loop or even inside your purse to keep things close at hand and easy to find. In addition, it can protect you from a valuable item, such as a camera or wallet from being stolen. Either that or you can sort of fashion a purse or a pocket out of the squares to hold money. Cut a hole and attach it to a string. You can wear it inside your shirt and it feels much better than their more costly store bought counterparts.

Collect Things

We decided to take a couple to the beach last weekend when we went. We collected dozens of shells and stones. They hold a lot more than you think. You can also use them while collecting things from the garden – berries, seeds, etc.

Tie it Around

No, not the same as tyeing it on. Tie it around your waste to use as a belt. Some bandannas are huge and by themselves will work, however if you don’t have a large one, you can tie several together. Your belts will be fun, festive and most of all frugal!

Hope you enjoyed these tips, and if you have any others, please share. I have so many of these things I’m sure I could find some more uses.
