The next time that you go out to shop, you can use that time to “earn” extra coupons and discounts. It is all a matter of simply asking your store manager certain questions. Jot down the answers and then take advantage of the bounty of coupons that you will get.
1. Do you have a loyalty program?
Loyalty programs allow shoppers to earn points or even cash back on their purchases. Most stores have some sort of loyalty program, although many don’t advertise this. Even thrift stores, such as GoodWill often have loyalty programs. You can also earn free products through loyalty programs, such as free coffee when you buy five.
2. Do you have a mailing list?
Getting on the mailing list will give you access to all sorts of savings information, such as coupons, advance notice of sales, even special unannounced discount days. If a mailing list or newsletter is available, sign up to get access to the savings.
3. Where can I get coupons?
This simple question may lead you to hidden coupons that are not obvious. For example, there may be coupons available at the courtesy desk, in the local newspaper, in a kiosk at the store or online. Asking this direct question will root our sources that you may not know about.
4. Do you do price matching?
While there are stores that are famous for price matching, such as Walmart, there are other stores that aren’t so obvious. Even smaller private stores may be willing to match competitors pricing. Just bring in the ad that states the sale price and shows the same item.
5. Do you guarantee your prices?
Ask the manger if the store has a price guarantee policy. This sort of policy ensures that you get the best price on your purchase. If the item goes on sale, after the holidays, for example, you will get a refund on the difference in the price!
