5 Tips for Your Morning Workout

Most fitness enthusiasts would agree that working out in the morning is the best. This is for several reasons. One is that if you put it off for later in the day, you are less likely to do it. Things are bound to come up or your motivation may falter.

Another reason its best to exercise in the morning is that you will burn more calories because your metabolism will be raised. You will also have more energy and feel better prepared for the day ahead.

While working out in the morning might be best, you should still be aware of some important tips. The first tip is to drink lots of water before, during and after your workout. The more water you drink in the morning, the fuller you will feel. Having a full feeling is a great way to curb your appetite. This will also help reduce the chance of becoming dehydrated.

A second tip is if you do feel hungry and water isn’t enough, you can eat something before you workout. However make sure it’s at least 30 minutes before you exercise. Fruits such as bananas, mango, watermelon and pineapple are good choices. But you could also eat an energy or fiber bar.

A third tip is to wait at least an hour after you have worked out before eating. Your body will be working on burning fat, so if you immediately consume food afterwards, you are defeating the purpose.

A fourth tip is to plan the night before. If getting up early to exercise is a struggle, make sure you get your clothes for the next day ready or anything else that will help the morning to go smoother. This way you can know you have plenty of time to exercise.

Finally, get adequate sleep at night so getting up to exercise in the morning isn’t such a challenge. Go to bed early enough that you get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep.
