Well, in the last blog, I covered the ugly – the gowns that just shouldn’t have been worn out the door. Someone – their stylist, publicist, personal assistant, or mother – should have wait “Oh no, wait.” Now, I will move on to the beautiful gowns. I will tell you what E! online voters thought of my choices.
The Beautiful
Wow, I bet Ryan Phillipe is kicking himself. She was just the epitome of beauty Sunday night. Everything was right – the dress, the hair, the makeup – all flawless. If only we all could be so gorgeous. Ninety seven percent of E! voters agreed with me.
Kate Winslet
Nominated five times by the age of 30, Kate is setting Academy records and she looked stunning doing it. I liked the mint green with her complexion and the simple lines of the dress. As for E! voters, 84% agreed with me.
I may get some grief for this, but I think for her, she looked great. I liked the dress and hair. Although the dress was a bit funky for the red carpet, she certainly looked much better than she has in past years. E! voters don’t agree – 61% hated it.
I loved, loved, loved the hair. I also loved the color of the dress and even the strands across her collarbone. I do like to see her in a more formfitting dress (because she has the form to carry it off!), but overall, I thought she looked red carpet sensational. Fifty five percent of E! voters disagreed – they hated it.
Penelope Cruz
I thought her Versace dress was striking and the color was perfect for her. The bottom of the dress looked so soft! I like her hair a little less severe – pulled back with soft bangs, but she was still beautiful. Sixty six percent of E! voters agreed.
Here’s a few more that looked stunning on the red carpet: Rinko Kikuchi, Jessica Biel (the color was fabulous!), Gwyneth Paltrow, Jada Pickett Smith, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Helen Mirren (she should teach Meryl how to dress!).
