Super Bowl Appetizer Ideas

Here are two more Super Bowl party appetizer ideas: Football Party Dip and a Cheesy Football. The great thing about a Super Bowl party is that people will probably be snacking on things throughout the whole game. Both of these recipes are great for all-day snacking and your guests will love the football shaped Cheesy Football.

Football Party Dip

For the Football Party Dip, you will need a pound of sausage, one 16 ounce can of baked beans, barbecue sauce, two fresh tomatoes, celery, yellow onion, green onion, garlic powder, hot sauce, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips.

In a skillet, brown your sausage, crumbling it into small pieces. Drain while cooking. Over medium heat, add 1 1/2 cup of diced celery and 1 1/4 cup of diced onion and continue to cook until vegetables are tender. Add one 16 ounce can of baked beans and 1 cup of barbecue sauce. Mix well. Add 1 3/4 cup of diced tomatoes, 1 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 3 or 4 dashes of hot sauce, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and let the ingredients simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve your dip with tortilla chips and garnish with 1 cup of cheddar cheese, 1/3 cup of sour cream, and/or 1/4 cup of chopped green onions. This dip serves 6 to 8.

Cheesy Football

For this recipe, you will need 16 ounces of Philadelphia cream cheese, 8 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese, grated parmesan cheese, Miracle Whip dressing, crackers, one cup of chopped pecans, celery, pimentos or roasted red pepper strips, and green onions.

With an electric mixer set on medium, mix together 16 ounces of Philadelphia cream cheese (softened), 1/2 cup of Miracle Whip, and 8 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese until blended. Add 1/4 cup of chopped green onions and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well and allow the mixture to refrigerate for several hours.

Right before your guests arrive, roll the mixture in 1 cup of chopped pecans. Form it into a football shape and use pimentos or roasted red pepper strips to create football lacing. Serve with additional green onions, celery and crackers.
