Fitness magazine said you can do it, and I’ve been doing it. I signed up and dived into the challenge 10 days ago when I posted the information about the challenge here at the Fitness blog. Now at the end of my second week, I’m more than just a cheerleader for this particular goal-oriented fitness challenge. I need to go in and update my data, but my totals for the last two weeks work out to the following:
- Cardio – 240 minutes
- Strength Training – 75 minutes
- Time To Myself – 600 minutes
- Pounds Lost – 2 pounds
- How do I feel today? – Good!
The strength training portion of the workout is very good and I have most of the materials here at home to do the workout from the balance ball to the hand weights. I do need to get a new heart rate monitor because my handy dandy watch broke down.
The cardio I have reserved to my treadmill, though on four of the last seven school days, I have added a few minutes of basic walking just taking the kids to and from to school. I don’t really count the time walking them there because I have to really shorten my stride for my daughter, but on the way home – I’m good to go. It’s about .6 miles from here to the school – so I get 1.2 miles total right now.
It’s too hot in the afternoons to do the walking, but the kids and I are all counting down until cooler air prevails here in North Texas. I’m about sick and tired of 100+ degree heat throughout the day and no rain. It’s like walking out into a blasting furnace.
Have you been participating in the You Can Do It Fitness Challenge? I’d love to hear from you!
