Now THIS is a Burger!

I’d like to say that the love of hamburgers is strictly a “guy” thing. My hips would definitely like to say it’s just a “guy” thing. But it’s not. Americans across the globe, male or female, young or old, love hamburgers. Why? Because they’re delicious; they’re moist, flavorful, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t like the challenge of trying to eat something that’s too big for their mouth?

I came across this recipe and I think you’ll like it. It makes 10-12 burgers. The recipe doesn’t call for cheese, but if you like it ( I LOVE cheese) then go ahead and add a thick slice of cheddar, provolone, or whatever cheese you’d like, at the end.

For this recipe you’ll need:

2 pounds ground chuck

1 pound ground sirloin

3 TB steak sauce

6 extra large egg yolks

1 ½ teaspoons salt

¾ teaspoons pepper

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

12 hamburger buns

To make this recipe:

In a large bowl, mix together the ground chuck, ground sirloin, steak sauce, egg yolks, salt, and pepper. Use a fork to mix them, but don’t mash. Gently form the hamburger patties in your hands. Place a thin slice of butter in the center of each patty and cover it totally so the juice doesn’t run when cooking.

Grill for approximately five minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached.

Tip: You don’t want to overwork your ground beef because it will become tough. By handling it as little as possible you’ll ensure a moist burger.

Toppings: These burgers, as with all burgers, can be topped with just about anything under the sun. My new favorite is avocado. Just slice it up and add it. Other popular toppings include bacon, jalapenos, mushrooms, grilled onions, and of course lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
