Frugal Ways To Use Paper Clips

If you open any desk drawer in our house, you will find a fairly large amount of standard office supplies. I have no idea why I seem to collect them but from hundreds of pens, to hundreds of pencils, paper clips, rubber bands, sticky notes and more, we have tons of office supplies.

I’ve found some new ways to use up that huge pile of paper clips that you might have accumulated. I know I have hundreds, and although I have some regular uses for them, I have some new and inovative ways to use them too!

Paper clips come in assorted shapes, sizes and colors. The majority of these ideas use a standard silver paper clip, however a few of the ideas can be modified to use the fun shapes, sizes and styles of the newer paper clips.

Scrapbooking/Card Making

Use them in your album. Clip a journaling block to your page, clip a photograph to the page, or use it to attach a ribbon or other embellishment to your cards or layouts.

Hold That Stack

Yes, a typical use for a paper clip is to just clip it on the stack of papers instead of stapling papers together.

Mark That Page

Use a paper clip as a bookmark instead of folding the corner of the page down or actually trying to find a bookmark lying around the house. They are easy to remove and can be used over and over and over. Using a paper clip as a bookmark can be helpful if you are reading a how to book or any other book where you might wish to make notes. Just clip a scrap piece of paper under the paper clip in the book and it keeps the paper right there where you need it. You can even tie a ribbon to the paper clip to make it a bit more fancy and to make finding your place even easier.
