Celebrity Updates

Keeping up with the ongoing drama in a celebrity’s life is enough to make your head spin. The winds of change seem to be ever present in Hollywood… and all the other exotic places where celebrities frequent. So, in an effort to keep you in the “hip and now” the following are updates on the subjects of previous pop culture blogs:

ANNA NICOLE’S BABY—THE DADDY MYSTERY SOLVED

Did you watch CNN’s “Larry King Live” last night? If you did, then you know the identity of Anna Nicole’s baby girl has been revealed. Howard K. Stern, the lawyer for Smith, told King that he’s the “proud father” of her baby girl, who was born just days before Smith’s 20-year-old son Daniel died in the Bahamas. Stern also told King that the newborn’s name is Dannie Lynn Hope and that she has been Smith’s “one ray of hope” following the tragedy. Stern also said that he was with the family in the hospital the night Daniel died.

Do you believe Stern? I wouldn’t be so suspicious if I hadn’t watched another man spend an entire week on “Entertainment Tonight” claim he was the father of Smith’s baby. Watching Stern on “Larry King” I would say it is either true or it is an elaborate ruse to allow Smith to recover in peace. On his relationship with Smith, Stern said: “We love each other and it’s been going on for a very long time and because of my relationship as her lawyer, we felt it was best to keep everything hidden. And we’ve done a pretty good job of that.”

ANCHORS AWAY

They said it was inevitable (well, critics did anyway): Katie Couric is slipping in the ratings. After weeks at the top of the heap, the new “CBS Evening News” anchor is at an unfamiliar spot: No. 2 in the ratings.

According to estimates released Monday by Nielsen Media Research, “NBC’s Nightly News with Brian Williams” has reclaimed the No.1 spot. Couric’s big opening night drew 13.6 million viewers, but now, three weeks later, her ratings are down 24%.

SUGAR AND SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE

He already has two sons (but, still no wife), and now Sean “Diddy” Combs is about to even out the gender scale. Diddy tells “Vibe” magazine he and his girlfriend Kim Porter will be welcoming twin girls to the family.

“People say, to a so-called ladies’ man or whatever, that when you have girls it changes you,” Diddy told the magazine. “So I was like, ‘What’s God trying to tell me by giving me two girls?'”
