Digital scrapbooking has become very popular over the last couple of years but I know many scrapbookers are unsure about starting digital scrapbooking because they aren’t sure about what they would do after the finish a layout on their computer.
Digital pages are easy to share with friend through email and also easy to post in online galleries. You can also print them out and then place them in your albums.
BooKit is a new product made for scrapbookers who want to turn their photos into a meaningful keepsake album. This is a kit that comes with 30 pages which means that you can have 60 pages in your book after you print onto both sides of the paper. It also comes with an album cover, adhesive and a needle and thread to bind the book together. There is a demonstration video on their site that shows how to assemble the book.
This kit does not include any digital software that you will need for arranging the photos on your computer prior to printing. They do not include the software because you may already have something that works for you. If you are in need of software, they do recommend two different types of software that are geared toward scrapbookers.
These albums would make great gifts for family and friends. You could also use this album to store your child’s schoolwork for the year. You would just scan it into the computer, size it and then print it out and bind the book. You wouldn’t need to keep all of the actual paperwork since you would have the album to preserve those memories.
I think this album would also work well for a traditional scrapbooker who wants to simply scrapbook each page and then bind the pages into the bound album.
The cost of the BooKit is $19.95.
It is nice to now have more options for preserving digital layous.
