Have you ever heard of Divorce Busting? It’s a program designed by Michele Weiner-Davis to help couples save their marriages. Michele doesn’t believe in throw away relationships, and she’s spent the past couples decades counseling troubled couples. She has a center in Illinois (the Divorce Busting Center) and more recently has opened another in Colorado. She has also written several books (listed below) and has a website.
If your marriage seems to be crumbling and you don’t know what to do, and would like to talk to someone right away, you can sign up for a consultation by phone. Divorce Busting doesn’t come cheap, but you can get a discount if you sign up for three sessions at once. The object is to give you practical advice or “short term goal oriented therapy” that you can begin using to change yourself and your relationship immediately.
The site also features Divorce Busting message boards where you can seek free, immediate advice and support, or just talk with others whose marriages are in crisis. Sometimes, it helps to know you’re not alone and to share your feelings with other people who can relate to what you’re going through.
While not every marriage can be saved, Divorce Busters believe in the sanctity of marriage and believe that many marriages can be saved. Just don’t expect them to simply tell you what you want to hear. They aren’t likely to say things like, “You deserve better,” or focus solely on your wants and needs like so many modern “therapists” do. They focus on your whole relationship.
