With reproductive technology, parents can now in fact choose the sex of their baby. While I’ve heard of some doing this. . .most people just take their statistical chances which are pretty good! You have a 50% chance of getting the exact gender you want!
However, the advent of reproductive technology did not start parents on thinking about having a specific gender. There have always been ”scientifically proven” methods of conceiving the gender of your choice. (And by scientifically proven here, I mean that people still had a 50/50 chance of their method working!)
If you can afford reproductive technology maybe you want to try these methods?
Position
Not of the baby but of the. . .deed. For a girl, women should initiate sex, use the missionary position, and then sleep on her spouse’s left side. For a boy, it is “advisable” to be creative in positioning.
Diet
For a girl, mom should eat lots of veggies, sweets and calcium rich foods. For a boy, mom should go with red meats and salty snacks.
Dad on the other hand can “impart extra speed to the male producing sperm” by drinking caffeine no more than half an hour before sex. (Can you hear it? “Wait honey–let me get that cup of coffee.”)
Timing
Some doctors have said timing is everything. It has been believed that the male sperm are weaker and so it is necessary to increase sperm count with abstinence to give the men swimmers a fighting chance.
Meanwhile, for a girl, partners should have sex as often as possible to lower the sperm count.
And one I would definitely not want to try
In 18th century France, apparently it was customary for men to tie a string around their left testicle to produce a boy. It was believed that male and female sperm came from the right and left testicles. . .respectively.
I’m not an expert in statistics but I can assure you, without a doubt, that you have a 50% chance of getting exactly what your heart desires!
