Harvest and Halloween Party Ideas

Are you and your kids ready to party? What about games? If you could still use a few ideas, check out some of these:

Party Games:

Tricks and Treats

On scrap pieces of paper, write simple tricks for kids to do. Place them all in a bucket or bowl. Have each child pull one item from the bucket. After he or she completes the trick, give the child a treat. You can pick up cute stickers, whistles, or other party favors to give as prizes or you can use individually wrapped pieces of candy.

Take a Wild Guess

Fill a jar with candy corn, counting each piece as you go. Secure the lid onto the jar. Have each child write down his or her guess as to how many pieces of candy are in the jar. The one who guesses closest to the correct number wins.

Adapted Versions of Old Favorites:

Pass the Pumpkin

Pick up a mini pumpkin or a small plastic one and use to play “pass the pumpkin.” You play just like “hot potato.” Have children sit in a circle, turn on music, pass the pumpkin, and when the music stops, the person left holding the pumpkin is out. Continue until one child is left, and that child is the winner.

Pick a Pumpkin

Fill a large plastic container with water (an under bed storage box or other plastic storage bin will work great). Instead of ducks, pick up small plastic pumpkins and number the bottom of each one with indelible marker. Float the pumpkins and have each child pick one. Whichever number he or she chooses will correspond with a small prize.
