Kids’ Crafts Week of Oct. 23-28

If you missed anything, most of this week’s ideas of course had to do with Halloween and Harvest Day. From quick and easy costumes and last minute costume ideas to party stuff and cakes, there should be enough here to get you into the holiday mood.

There was also an article by Tristi Pinkston, reviewing a craft book. See: Great Stuff: 100 Fun Projects for Kids – Susie Lacome. Read on to learn more about this week’s crafts, projects, and ideas.

The title pretty much says it all for Simple Halloween Cakes that Anyone Can Make. It includes easy ideas that will help you make cute cakes using any boxed cake mix and a few other easily accessible items and ingredients. You will not need any fancy cake pans or a course in cake decorating to put together a cute pumpkin or jack-o-lantern cake, a candy corn cake, a spider, or assorted festive cupcakes.

Next, you’ll find Halloween Party and Treat Ideas including craft ideas, party favors, treats and more. You’ll also find the link to the Kraft Foods page, which is filled with cute ideas including an adorable pumpkin cake made using a bundt cake pan.

After that you’ll learn some Other Things You Can Do with Costumes, such as trading, mixing and matching, or donating your older costumes and accessories to less fortunate children so they can dress up and go trick-or-treating too.

This brings us to some more costume ideas, such as Last Minute Costumes, made from pajama sleepers and sweats, and Easiest Ever Last Minute Costumes, made from clothing you may already have, a bit of felt, some paint, or a few inexpensive items you can find at any discount store. If you’re still looking for inspiration, check out Quick and Cute Costume Ideas, one especially for girls and one especially for boys, like the simple beauty queen costume or the referee.
