Do you enjoy vacationing regularly at Disney World? Well, you’re in luck there is a plan in the works for 458 time-share units to be opened at the Animal Kingdom. This is the sixth such time share type of property to open in the Disney World area and will include some new construction and renovated accommodations at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and will feature the African details popular at the lodge as well as views of the Savannah.
The new time-share property will be called Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas. There are over 19,000 time-share units available in Orlando and according to statistics, more than 15 percent of all visitors to the Orlando area stayed in time-shares. Building a time-share near the Animal Kingdom Lodge and as a part of the Lodge is a really great idea.
If you’ve ever visited the Animal Kingdom Lodge, then you’d know that it is unique among all the Disney Resorts in the sense that when you return to the Lodge after a day at the parks, it’s a true retreat from the madness. It’s quiet, it’s serene and it’s beautiful. There are a multitude of activities to do there at the resort, but among my favorite was to sit and overlook the savannah with a cup of coffee and just be.
Time-shares are a great way to spend your time regularly at Disney World, whether you like to visit annually or bi-annually, because you always have a place to stay. Time-shares are especially good for families who may be cramped in a hotel room or need to share the cost of multiple hotel rooms and that can inhibit their Disney travel and experience.
The first Animal Kingdom Villas should be open by the fall of 2007, with the completion of the project targeted for spring of 1999. The first phase will be remodeling 134 accommodations on the fifth and sixth floors of the Lodge and will build 324 new properties in a new building there at the resort.
