The Product of Produce
Whether you are shopping for your meals, or just browsing the aisles of the local grocery store, it is astonishing how easy it is to find items to use for decorating. From squashes, to Kiwi and Apples to Potatoes, there are so many interesting items at the store to decorate with. Place a bowl or bakset full of potatoes in the center of your table. Drop in a few acorns, berries and leaves and what you have is a beautiful rustic decoration.
Kiwi also lend a hand to making a basket or bowl look rustic due to the outside appearance of their skin.
Apples come in a variety of colors. Reds, yellows and greens are perfect for this time of year and can be placed in centerpieces, baskets or bowls for a colorful decoration for not much cost at all! You can even buy mixed bags with oranges to get that extra boost of color into your display.
Squash and eggplants have rich, autumn colors and could easily be dropped into a bowl or basket for another quick decoration.
Two For the Price of One
With two holidays coming up, Thanksgiving and Christmas, it’s easier to decorate with items that might serve both holidays. It’s easier to make a quick transition that way.
Try using a different color palette to coordinate both holidays. For instance, white, green, gold and yellow can be used for both holidays. You can simply add a touch of red when it’s time to decorate for the Christmas season.
Adding a string of clear lights to an autumn display makes it go from Thanksgiving to Christmas quickly with only a small touch.
Use candles, votive’s, tea lights and more in white to decorate for both seasons. Use leaves to surround them in the fall, then change over to a strange of Christmas garland in the Christmas season.
