OK, I’m going to open up a can of worms. I saw another post trying to figure it out and feel the need to blog.
First, the names above are names of teams. There are many, many other teams out there. So you will find the same company listed under numerous names.
Let me start by saying my opinion is formed from being a message board moderator. I delete a lot of spam, but a lot of the spam I delete is either from one of these teams. I have read a ton of posts both for and against the company. I have also coached a successful leader in one of the companies who taught me a lot and helped open my eyes to the possibility of the company. She works very hard for her success.
To avoid getting flamed, I’ll tell you up front that the company they represent is called Melaleuca, and yes, it is a legit company. However, you need to make sure you have all the information before proceeding. I am neither against or for this business. I have seen that it can be a very good option for some, and a not so good option for others.
Let me say, I have heard amazing things about the products. They are supposedly very good. I say “supposedly” because I have not tried them. The only way to try is to join the company, unless you want to pay regular price which I think is high. I have had one person offer to let me buy some from her at her cost, and one day plan to take advantage of the offer.
Melalueca is a sort of club. Every month, you are required to shop from them. You have to buy a minimum of points, which is around $50 to $75 a month. They sell all sorts of consumables from vitamins to cleaning supplies to skin care. Basically, they are asking you to switch stores. So instead of going to WalMart and buying cleaning supplies, you get everything through them.
It is not a bad concept. All you are doing is switching stores. Then you make money when you sign up others. However, signing up others is not easy for most people. And they forget to tell you once you promote in rank, your monthly purchase requirement goes up.
They often advertise “no selling and no recruiting.” This is all perspective. You are not selling any products, but you are selling a membership and recruiting them to join your team. But no, you are not doing parties (though you may do in home presentations or one-on-one recruiting appointments) and do not have to worry about multiple sales from one person.
That said, my advice to you is if you are interested in the products, it may be a great opportunity for you. Not everyone who joins Melaleuca does it for the money. In fact, my advice to you is always join for the product first. Chances are you won’t get rich from this business.
Remember, I am not with the company, so this is all information from a third party. But I hope this helps!
