Your Cleaning ABCs (DEF&G to Come)

computerCleaning alphabetically works the same way as doing anything else in that manner; namely, it puts things in order. If your xylophone is dirty, it will have to wait its turn, but those items closer to the front of the alphabet will soon get a dusting, whether they want to or not. Read on, no matter how you may feel about order and letters or vice versa.

Bedding
A sure fire way to kill those dust mites that live rent-free within the folds of your bedding is to place the item in a garbage bag and leave it in the freezer for an hour or so.

Candleholder Cleaning
Rub your candleholders with a little petroleum jelly before placing candles inside. No genie will appear, but the process will prevent the melted wax from sticking and make your cleanup a lot easier. A little bit of water will serve the same purpose. It will not only douse any flame when the candle burns down, but it will also help in wax removal. Make your candles dripless and avoid any clean up at all by soaking them in a strong saltwater solution for a few hours.

Compact Discs
Use a lint-free cloth to clean your discs. Make sure you wipe straight from the center out toward the edge of the disc.

Computer Care
In cleaning the computer, always shut it off first. To remove dust from the keyboard, vacuum with a soft-bristled brush attachment. Use a fabric softener sheet to reduce that dust-attracting static. Greasy marks from fingers can be removed (marks not fingers) by wiping with a soft cloth dipped in some denatured alcohol. To clean the mouse, unscrew the ball holder and remove the ball. Wipe the ball down with some rubbing alcohol and using a dampened with alcohol cotton swab, clean the heads inside the mouse.

Stay tuned for more alphabetical cleanups tomorrow. Do YOU have any to add? Please share.
