Love Notes: Do You Know How to Love Him?

I’m very lucky and while that may sound like a broad statement, it’s also very true. I’m extremely lucky in the fact that I can send flowers and chocolates and teddy bears to my husband at Valentine’s and he loves to get them. Over the years, I’ve sent him a dozen red roses with an adorable stuffed black bear wrapped around the vase. He still has the bear.

Another year, I sent him a dozen deluxe chocolate covered strawberries in a rose box arrangement. Those were a huge hit. He even saved me two that were dipped in dark chocolate with coconut. Another year, I gave him a video game tucked into a box of chocolates that he’d been eager to get his hands on.

Loving & Romancing Him

Too often, women think it is the job of their boyfriend or their husband to romance them. They are the ones who are supposed to bring the flowers, the chocolates, the jewelry and the stuffed animals. After all, how many men do you know that like to receive flowers?

The numbers may actually surprise you. My husband likes to receive them because despite not being a huge flower lover, he can appreciate them and he always loves the sentiment. There is something about the beauty of the flowers that anyone can enjoy whether they like cultivating them, picking them out or even displaying them.

Send Him Flowers

Don’t be afraid to give your husband flowers, don’t be afraid to give him jewelry and don’t be afraid to give him chocolates. After all, Valentine’s is about saying I love you and I appreciate you. If he’s a sports fan, you can give him a sports bouquet or even add tickets to a favorite sporting event in the box of chocolates. You might use a stuffed animal to present him with a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant and more.

Let your imagination be the limit – but don’t hold back from giving him flowers because he’s supposed to romance you – romance him for a change, you just might enjoy the results! How are you going to romance your guy this Valentine’s?
