Looking for my waist: Chronic Under Eating

I am a chronic under eater. It is 10:30 right now, and I have not had a bite to eat. No one who knows my eating habits understands why I am over weight. Diet pills do not work because the goal of them is to make me eat less. I really do not have a problem with that.

This might sound crazy from someone whose goal is to lose 100 pounds (95 to go), but it is very true. My body lives in a mode of starvation. I am often sluggish, tired and cranky. Any attempt to lose weight on my part results in my metabolism dropping and me gaining a few extra pounds when I give up.

An article on NaturalPhysiques.com says “So what”. they claim that as long as your lower calorie diet is filled with nutrients, eventually your weight will fall and you will lose weight. I say that until you have walked a mile in my slow metabolic rate shoes, you cannot judge.

My goal here is not to complain and whine, although it can sometimes be cathartic. It is instead to outline a goal to get my metabolism going so I can drop some serious poundage.

  1. Eat breakfast earlier… much earlier. I generally do not eat anything before 10 am, even though I may wake up at 7am.
  2. Continue on the every other day diet that is showing signs of success. Read my previous post.
  3. Eat healthier foods (I find myself eating junk to raise my calories for the day high enough to keep my metabolism going). I am going to have to drive further to the whole foods market that moved, as the normal supermarket does not serve the food that are both healthy and taste good.
  4. Exercise is the hardest part of losing weight for someone with little energy. I also fear exercise because whenever I do exercise I bulk up like a man. I know, muscle burns more fat… but I really do not like the way I look with muscle. I will still have to suck it up and get moving.
