What Habit Am I Giving Up for the Next Five Days

We talked about making a change in our Change Your Habits in Five Days Challenge and today is the day we launch that challenge. So what habit am I going to give up for the next five days? I had to think about this because right now I’m still a bit laid up and taking a shower requires a two hour nap afterwards so I chose to give up my favorite drink – my Venti, half-café, non-fat, peppermint mocha.

My Starbuck’s Addiction

I’ve been drinking Starbuck’s for more than ten years. At one point in time, I was drinking two to three mochas a day. And before you tell me how bad that is for me, I know it is. I’ve cut back over the years, I went from whole milk to non-fat; I went full caffeine to half-café and I’ve gone from two to three a day to just one a day three or four times a week instead of daily.

But still, between the cost of the mochas and the number of calories, I need to cut back even further. So my goal will be to not have any mocha this week, this is the habit that I am giving up for the next five days. Now, it may sound easy to you, but I’m not sure how easy it will be for me because I think of having mocha at the end of a hard day or when I’m worn out and I can kick back and relax with mocha.

It’s also a kick the busy day off kind of drink. Now I haven’t had much of them over the last week, but I spend more time sleeping right now than anything else. But still, forgoing mochas is what I will give up for changing my habits in five days.

What will you give up for the next five days? I’d love to hear from you.
