Easter is coming soon. Are you having company? Even if you aren’t entertaining guests for the holiday, you may want to add a few festive touches around the house.
I love centerpieces. They are great for holiday decorating. You can whip up something cute in just a few minutes, for very little cost, and it makes a great impact. Being at the center of attention (or at least the center of the table) does make a difference but the impact is also due to the creativity involved. Use your imagination and when possible, use stuff you already have around the house.
Here are some easy Easter centerpiece ideas:
A Tisket and Tasket
Any old basket will do, and what would Easter be without an Easter basket? If it needs some freshening, sponge on a little craft paint to perk it up. Fill the basket with florals in pretty, pastel colors. Make sure some of the flowers and greenery overhang the sides of the basket to give it a more dramatic look. Use lots of frilly, delicate filler. Baby’s breath is my favorite. Add some decorated eggs to your flower arrangement and place a few strategically on the table surrounding the basket. You also do one big basket in the center and add a few smaller ones around it.
Cute for the Kid’s Table
Pick up some miniature terra cotta flowerpots. You can paint them or have kids paint them if you like or use them as is. Wrap ribbon around some or all of the pots and tie into bows. Place a rock or a bit of clay each one to weight it then place a decorated Easter egg on top of each one. Scatter some Easter grass or curled ribbon around the bases of the flowerpots and sprinkle the area with pretty, foil wrapped Easter candies.
