The world of entertainment is fluid (to say the least), which is why blogs about certain celebrities tend to require updates on a weekly basis (save for Britney Spears in which case it’s an hourly basis). The following are new takes on subjects from my previous blogs featuring the ladies of a certain ABC chatfest and a reality star in the making.
“The View’s” Youngest View
Much has been written about the growing animosity brewing between “View” co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O’Donnell. Some media reports have the ladies clawing at each other during commercial breaks. While other reports (including my previous blog) reported that the youngest “View” star was so fed up with O’Donnell’s constant picking that she was shopping around for a new TV gig.
As it turns out (at least according to PEOPLE magazine), all of the rumors of an unrest are false.
“Everyone’s always thinking Ro and I don’t get along, we’re ‘enemies,’ ” Hasselbeck recently told the magazine. “Politically, we’re rivals. That is clear. However, we are personally friends. We are on e-mail all day long with each other.”
I for one bought into the gossip that Hasselbeck was an easy target for O’Donnell and that the 29-year-old former “Survivor” contestant often shed tears after each show, but according Hasselbeck the stories of her crying are false.
“Under these blonde highlights I consider myself a pretty tough person. So don’t cry for me, Argentina,” Hasselbeck told PEOPLE.
So, “The View” is a chatfest and a love fest—who knew? (I’ll believe it when I hear both Hasselbeck and O’Donnell have signed multi-year contracts to remain with the show.)
“Spicy” Refusal
In a previous blog I reported that former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham had landed a new gig as a reality TV star. This followed the January announcement that her soccer star husband David Beckham had signed a lucrative five-year deal with the L.A. Galaxy.
The Beckham’s are now in the process of moving their family (they are parents to three young boys) to California—BUT they have yet to find the perfect mansion because they reportedly refuse to overpay for a house whose price had been raised simply because the family is famous.
Welcome to L.A.
A source close to the couple recently told reporters that “it’s pretty hard to keep identities secret when you are interested in multimillion-dollar mansions.” I wouldn’t know. However, I do believe it would be frustrating to have the price of a house skyrocket once a seller finds out you’re a star (not that I am shedding tears for the couple).
So the Beckham’s are without a Beverly Hills home for now… somehow I don’t think they will remain homeless for long.
