When my brother was younger, my mom spoiled him like crazy. When he’d be in the shower, she’d throw his towel into the washer so that when he got out, he could snuggle up in a nice warm bath sheet. I don’t mean when he was five – when he was fifteen. Something about a man and his towel. My husband uses the same one whenever he can. He says he can feel the difference.
Except in the winter, I like to hang my clothes out to dry when I can. Yes, even here in rainy Washington it’s possible to dry clothes on the line. I figure it saves me .35 per load. But that .35 isn’t worth hearing about how scratchy the towels are! Personally, I find them invigorating, but Paul is more sensitive to touch. So I dry his in the dryer, no matter how warm it is outside. I really don’t mind. I love to bury my face in the warm towels fresh out of the dryer, especially in winter. Yes, I’m easily amused and satisfied!
It’s one reason, though, that I buy 100% cotton towels. Those beach towels and other poly blends just don’t do it for me. They’re 100% cotton and very soft. They’re not the big fluffy kind and they’re not flashy. Instead, they’re soft, sturdy, and very absorbent. Just the kind I need. I just finished redoing my guest bath in a lovely lavender with white beadboard. I’m thinking that the amethyst color will go perfectly. It’s nice to see a promotion where they have a dozen colors available, not just putrid green.
