Getting a man out of Dockers is about as possible as removing the remote from his hand during a football game. When Paul and I first met, it’s about all he wore. As the years have gone by, I’ve managed to get him into some beautiful Perry Ellis slacks for church, but for leisure wear, it’s still pretty much his favorite Dockers that fill the closet.
Being frugal, I usually pick them up at our favorite second-hand store. Once in awhile, there’s a sale good enough to warrant buying them new. Now there’s a third option. Through June 9th, if you buy $125 worth of men’s Dockers at JCPenney (I didn’t even know they had women’s!), you’ll receive a voucher for a free round-trip flight. You can purchase them either in the store or online at JCPenney.com. Online, the Relaxed Fit Pleated Chinos have been marked down from $48 to $21.99. That makes it an even better deal. What’s the catch?
Yep, there’s a catch. Only selected departure and destination cities are valid. Every airport I looked for was in the departure list. Unfortunately, the destination list is smaller. Much smaller. Boston, New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Las Vegas, Orlando, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., or Miami. That’s it. It’s a great deal for us because Paul needs to go to the Bay Area later this year. The best rate we found, with tons of restrictions, was $198. $125 for round-trip air plus four pairs of Dockers is a great deal!
Make sure you read all the restrictions. These tickets go through a booking agency, and availability on specific flights is limited. You also have to mail in the voucher request rather than doing it online.
Paul’s lost so much weight training for next weekend’s marathon that he really needs new pants. The ones he’s wearing now are from thirty pounds ago. I went ahead and ordered mine. He doesn’t get to take the tags off until the voucher goes through, though. I’m confident it will work and there will be fair winds and blue skies ahead!
