5 Must Have Books on Frugal Living

Being a Frugal Living guru, did not come easy. It’s taken years of practice, dedication and most of all, research. Sometimes, the research is in the form of trial and error – as in, let’s see what works and doesn’t. But sometimes it’s in the form of reading a book from the library or the bookstore. In fact, if I believe something works, I will often research to see if others have had success as well. The following books, are extremely helpful, if you plan to truly live a Frugal lifestyle. They are filled with tips, advice and all types of information on different areas you can save money.

Frugal Living for Dummies by Deborah Taylor-Hough – This book is of course part of the dummies series. As such, it makes understanding what you can do, and getting information, much easier than some other books. The book is broken down into categories and is a very easy read. I reference my copy often.

Pinch a Penny Till It Screams: Everything You Wanted To Know About Frugal Survival by Madeline Clive – An excellent resource for gleaning information on living well, but saving money at the same time. The book is newer, so the information offered is of a much more modern nature. I come back to this book often.

Living on Less by Editors of the Mother Earth News – This fabulous book covers everything from affordable housing, to homesteading to energy saving and so much more. It is a terrific resource to get the most bang for your buck.

Penny Pinching: How To Lower Your Everyday Expenses Without Lowering Your Standard of Living by Lee and Barbara Simmons – Looking to save money on housing, computers, cars, appliances, and much more? This book tells you how in a rather matter of fact way, that is easy to read and understand. Learn to budget better and make better choices.

Penny Pinching 101: Live Better for Less and Stay Out of Debt by Jackie Iglehart – This might just be one of my favorite books, ever. Jackie makes it easy to save money painlessly. And she doesn’t show you just how to save a little, she shows you how to save ALOT! Save on everything from cars, food, children, clothing, education, holidays, housing and a lot more. This is one of those must have books, that needs to be on your shelf.
