Hollywood’s Newest Additions

It’s another boy for the former Mrs. Lyle Lovett. Julia Roberts welcomed her third child, a boy named Henry Daniel Moder, today in Los Angeles. According to news reports, the youngest Moder weighed in at 8.5 pounds.

Little Henry joins his 2-year-old twin siblings Hazel and Phinnaeus. His famous mother should get in quite a workout juggling her brood… then again she does have husband 38-year-old cinematographer Danny Moder to help. The couple was married in July 2002 at Roberts’ home in Taos, New Mexico.

No word on when we will see Roberts strolling with her new addition, but she’ll be seen on the big screen later this year in the drama “Charlie Wilson’s War.”

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, actress Keri Russell and boyfriend Shane Deary welcomed their first child, a son on June 9th. According to PEOPLE magazine, the former “Felicity” star has named her new son River Russell Deary.

Okay, they aren’t Hollywood’s newest additions in the traditional sense… but they are the newest members of Hollywood’s most exclusive club.

Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Daniel Craig were among 115 actors, filmmakers, studio executives and others invited into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the group that hands out the Oscars.

Other celebs making the cut include actors Aaron Eckhart, Christopher Plummer, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Danny Huston. In addition, J.J. Abrams, creator of “Lost” and director of “Mission: Impossible III”; directors Antoine Fuqua, Monte Hellman and D.J. Caruso; and producer Jonathan Glickman, son of Dan Glickman, who heads the Motion Picture Association of America.

The Academy could have added 150 new members to its glamorous ranks, but the group’s selecting committee chose to endorse fewer candidates than allowed this year in an attempt to slow its growth. Since an overhaul of its rules the number of members eligible to vote on the Oscars currently sits at about 6,000.
