It’s official: The mack daddy is going to be a real daddy.
According to news reports, Usher and his fiancée Tameka Foster are expecting their first child together in the fall. The pop star says he is excited about planning his wedding and welcoming the arrival of his first born, though he didn’t mention which one he would be celebrating first.
Those in the media say expect the baby to come first. The 28-year-old singer and his 36-year-old fiancée became serious about 18 months ago (she was his stylist for five years prior to that) and got engaged earlier this year, though no wedding date has been set.
This will be the fourth child for the previously wed Foster and the first for Usher.
Word has it Oprah Winfrey is about to give birth too… to a new retail shop baring her name. She’s already got a talk show, a book club and a magazine so why not add to her growing industry?
According to Winfrey’s staff, the new store will be located within walking distance from Harpo Studios, where the queen of talk tapes her show. While no opening date has been set, reps for Winfrey say construction on the one-story, 4,500-square-foot store is already underway.
So what will Gayle King’s best friend be hocking at her new digs? Winfrey’s reps didn’t provide details, but I’m sure the store will be filled with Oprah inspired items similar to the ones you can find at her online boutique. Items there range from a beach tote with “O” logo trim, which sells for $26 to a $10 coffee mug with “The Oprah Winfrey Show” written on the side and a $24 basket made in South Africa.
Speaking of new beginnings… Actor-director Paul Glaser, former co-star of “Starsky & Hutch,” has filed for divorce from his wife. After 10 years of marriage, the actor has decided to split from wife Tracy Barone Glaser. According to court papers, he is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their 9-year-old daughter, Zoe.
Barone Glaser is the actor’s second wife. He was previously married to the late Elizabeth Glaser, who was infected with HIV through a blood transfusion and unknowingly passed it on to their daughter and son. After the couple lost their daughter Ariel to AIDS in 1988, Elizabeth Glaser helped create the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which focuses on preventing the spread of HIV to children. Elizabeth Glaser died in 1994.
