The iDay Frenzy

The Apple iPhone is due to be released and available for sale today, starting at 6 p.m.
Starting Yesterday (Thursday), thousands lined up in anticipation of buying their iPhone, tolerating everything from sticky heat and humidity to torrential rains to make sure that they are among the first to get their hands on the coveted device.

Apple and AT&T have not disclosed how many units will actually be available for sale, although some analysts predict that the demand will far exceed the availability. This news, combined with the hype surrounding the iPhone has led to a frenzied panic among consumers not seen since the days of the cabbage patch doll.

People armed with chairs, coolers and even sleeping bags are taking no chances that they will be left without an iPhone. In some cases, such as at the Apple flagship store in New York City, people started lining up on Monday. Some entrepreneurs have even formed clever “iWait” businesses, offering to wait in line for those who are unable to do so themselves.

In honor of all of those people waiting in line, I give you the iPhone round up. Here are all of the articles about the iPhone, starting with the most recent.

iPhone Service Plans Announced

Just today, Apple and AT&T announced the service plans that will be available for the iPhone. This is good news to many who at first weren’t sure if they would even been given the pricing for the iPhone plans before the launch date. In yesterday’s article, What Will that iPhone Cost You, I mentioned this dilemma as well as the announcement that AT&T would be making their pricing available before the iPhone launch.

With the highly anticipate launch of the iPhone, scheduled for this coming Friday, June 29th, people everywhere are gearing up to head down to the store, money in hand.

iPhone on The Move

Eager for the iPhone to arrive? In anticipation of Friday’s iPhone release date, shipments of the Apple iPhone have been making their way through the United States during this past weekend. The iPhones are currently being stored in various locations throughout the country, in FedEx storage facilities. They will remain in those facilities until they mobilize again for the big launch.

Cancellation Fee for iPhone

If you are planning on purchasing an iPhone come friday, think twice or maybe three times to make sure that it is something you really want. That is because AT&T announced that it will charge a fee to any customer who purchases an iPhone, signs up for the two-year contract and breaks that contract.

AT&T Prepares for the iPhone

AT&T is making many advanced preparations in anticipation of the Apple iPhone release, which will take place on June 29th. The company is planning to accommodate massive amounts of traffic in its retail stores on that date, by customers eager to purchase the iPhone and sign up for cell phone service.

iPhone: The 12th Icon

Have you seen the iPhone mock up on Apple’s website? It features some pretty colorful icons that promise that the iPhone will do all sorts of great features. There are four icons at the bottom: Phone, Mail, Web and iPod, that show off the standard functionality of the iPhone. But on the rest of the screen, there are other icons, eleven to be exact, lined up along the screen like little soldiers. Well, lined up like little soldiers who are waiting for their last comrade to arrive. There appears to be one icon that is missing.

iPhone Countdown: Confirmed Release Date

It seems that we finally have a confirmed release date for the new Apple iPhone. No more speculations or rumors. The confirmed release date for the Apple iPhone is….drumroll…hey have I ever told you about the time that I skinned my knee on the playground and..just kidding. I’ll keep you in suspense no longer. June 29th is the date for the iPhone release!

The Popularity of the iPhone

There is no doubt that the popularity of the iPhone is through the roof, even before it has actually been released. Anyone who owns a mobile phone has heard of the iPhone and probably wants one.
